Do not go here this place is a complete scam. If I can give it 0 stars I would. My air conditioning was not blowing cold air, so I took it here to get looked at. After going there three times they just kept asking for more money. We have proof from Volkswagen dealership they caused more damage to the vehicle after paying them almost $1600. The videos show what my vehicle look like after leaving their lot. Tanner is dishonest, the whole place lacks integrity. He told me yesterday that phili the owner would be coming in to discuss. Tanner also gave me a bogus number that was not Phil’s. Phil was never coming in per the receptionist. He’s on vacation until August. We tried to resolve this matter civilly however we’ll be taking action in court

Beware! I don't know that I’ve ever written a review before, but in this case, I feel obligated to—I want to help the next person. I recently moved to the other side of the valley and needed a new shop for my 2016 Audi Q5 with 63k miles on it. Based on strong reviews and how close it was to work, I decided to try German Auto Service. After bringing the car in, I was quoted $6k for a laundry list of repairs and replacements (see attached), some of which had already been done just ~8k miles ago—things like air filters, control arm bearings, etc. Fearing the worst, I took the car all the way back to my old shop on the other side of town and asked why none of this had come up before. They had multiple techs go through the car and check every single item listed in German Auto Service’s quote. Their conclusion? "This is exactly why the auto repair industry gets such a bad rap." The brake pads that German Auto claimed were in desperate need of replacement? They measured 5-6mm—aka one-third of their life still left. The only thing my old shop found to recommend was a $2k 60k-mile preventative tune-up for fluid flushes, which wasn’t even mentioned by German Auto and could wait until my next oil change. Nothing was urgent and completely preventative. Long story short: I’ll be driving 40 minutes to my old shop from now on. I can't thank my shop enough—it’s hard to find a trustworthy mechanic in what can be a scummy industry. And German Auto Service is not one of them.

Will try to sell you an absurd amount for new parts. $500 for a new battery, for a car that probably is on its last 5 years of life. Not very good with communication either. Had to keep calling to find out an estimate of when it would ready to pick up, hard to get a hold of the mechanic who’s working on it. Convinced them of finally letting me buy my own battery($130 vs $500), so had to deliver it to them. While there, they had me drive to the gas station to put gas in my car, to then returning it so they could continue to work on it. Then I heard some older gentleman yelling from what I could hear about someone breaking into a car & something about items missing. Not sure exactly what, but the yelling sounded pretty serious. They do have a nice waiting area with mini cold waters & a decent bathroom. A whole week & a half they had my car, & all they could tell me was they weren’t sure if it was the coils or something to do with emissions.

Doug and the rest of the team are fantastic! I bought an overpriced 2018 Tiguan last June (mistake) and it immediately started having problems. One thing after another, and burning oil like crazy. The VW dealership quoted me over 8k to repair it after several days of inspection. I brought it to German Auto for a second opinion, and I'm so glad I did. They took their time and did a thorough job for less. Has been running perfectly ever since. Thank you guys!

Well I initially posted a review years back but I deleted it due to my recent visit which was back in 2023. I have been dealing with German Auto from 2019 to 2023 on and off with a 2011 BMW I had over $8k in repairs, I am only giving one star because Tanner helped me out in the beginning and somewhat good customer service. After all the money I spent with them, 2022 the car needed a complete swap which cost me over $5k. I was paying here and there but it took their mechanic 2months to do the swap, when the job was done and I came to pick up the car when I drove it off the lot I noticed my gauge cluster was not working, my headlights were not working as well so I had to drive it back and although they fixed the issue and I was not charged because it was their fault it was a big inconvenience because I was ready to have my car back and within the hour I have to drive it right back and couldn't pick it up for another 3days. As far as the motor swap situation Tanner was not communicative at all, I had to keep calling him bugging him on the status of the engine swap job and even beforehand I had to keep calling him about the status of even finding a motor yet so the initial process even before the motor was ordered took about 2 weeks. And I noticed German Auto likes to tackle the problem at hand and they do not let you know if anything else is wrong with your vehicle.Yes I was sold a POS, I take full responsibility on that. But in March of 2023 I had transmission issues and when that was fixed the transmission was still leaking, then in July of 2023 the car cranked but wouldn't start. Tanner stated that it might be because my car was low and the tires were rubbing the harness, that was not the case and then he recommended I get the ECU looked at elsewhere. At that point I was annoyed with him and the shop and took my car. The fact that I paid $5k for a motor and swap labor and still getting issues baffles me. I got rid of the car and went back to Japanese autos,Lesson learned on my end.
